Make precise changes to individual clips directly on the Timeline. You can remove clips, replace footage, adjust timing, extend scenes, and more without rebuilding your video.
Send a clip to Chat for precise edits
To edit a specific clip with Chat, send it from the Timeline directly to Chat. This adds the clip as context for your request.
On the Timeline, select the clip.
In the toolbar, select Add to Chat.
Describe the change you want in Chat.
For example:
"Make this more cinematic."
"Replace this with a beach at sunset."
Medeo applies the requested changes to the selected clip.
Delete a clip
On the Timeline, select the clip.
Select Delete. The clip is removed from your video.
Good to know: Deleting a clip only removes it from the Timeline itselfThe original asset remains available in your Assets panel.
Replace a clip with your own media
Replace a clip without changing the rest of your video.
On the Timeline, select the clip you want to replace.
Select Replace.
Choose a new AI-generated clip or an asset from your library.
Rearrange clips
On the Timeline, click and hold the clip you want to move.
Drag it to a new position.
Release the clip to place it.
Preview updates to show the clips in their new order.
Adjust clip duration
On the Timeline, select the clip.
Drag the edge of the clip to adjust its duration.
The new duration is shown on the Timeline.
Extend a scene
Generate new footage that continues from the end of the selected clip.
On the Timeline, select the clip (or find it in chat).
Select Extend.
Medeo pre-fills a prompt such as "Continue the scene naturally." You can edit or expand it.
Click Send Message to generate the continuation. Alternatively, enter "Continue the last clip" in Chat.
Good to know:
Extend keeps your characters consistent with the previous clip's ending.
Each use of Extend generates a new clip and uses credits like any other generation.
You can use Extend multiple times to build a longer sequence.
Adjust clip speed
Change the playback speed of a clip to create slow motion or speed up the action.
On the Timeline, select the clip.
In the toolbar, select the speed control. It is shown as 1x by default.
Choose a new playback speed.
Undo or redo your edits
Undo or redo your recent changes as you edit your video.
In the toolbar, select Undo to reverse your last change.
Select Redo to reapply the change.
